The Army does allow religious items, including necklaces, under AR 670-1. The rule is simple: they must be neat, conservative, and hidden under the uniform. Drill sergeants generally won’t give you trouble as long as the chain isn’t visible and doesn’t become a safety hazard.

Here’s the thing…it is better to go with cheaper options like this because you will be on the move. There is a chance your necklace will break or even get stolen if you remove it, so best it not be made of precious metals.
